Fire

Did you know that the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came in to force on the 1 st October 2006 ? What does this mean to your business?

The order affects all non-domestic premises and even applies to certain activities taking place outdoors. The Fire Safety Order places the emphasis towards risk reduction and fire prevention. Fire certificates are no longer issued.

All businesses must have a person responsible for the compliance of the Fire Safety Order and carry out regular fire risk assessments which must focus on the safety of all persons in case of a fire. It should pay particular attention to those at special risk, such as young people, the disabled and those with special needs, and must include consideration of any dangerous substances likely to be on the premises. The Business must also have an emergency plan.
