PAS 125
The Kitemark® scheme for Vehicle Body Repairs is a voluntary, third party scheme that ensures the standards of PAS 125 are met and maintained.
The PAS 125 specification has been developed by BSI, Thatcham and other stakeholders to develop a publication aimed at raising the standards of vehicle body repairs.
Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 125 sets down the requirements for vehicle body repair, including measures for the qualification of technicians, repair methods, materials and the machinery/equipment used. Applicable to all categories of repair work undertaken on cars and light commercial vehicles, PAS 125 will drive change through the industry and is set to become the industry standard for vehicle body repair.
The Kitemark® for PAS 125 offers the crash repair industry a benchmark for the efficient, effective and safe repair of vehicles. It will represent conformity to the technical requirements of PAS 125, demonstrated through assessment of the repair methods, materials, machinery and skills deployed, as well as the business controls applied to ensure continuing conformity to the required standards.
The Kitemark® for PAS 125 will also involve ongoing surveillance visits to check that repair activities are up to standard.
